Moving to the U.S. is challenging. Become a Buddy to help recent immigrants navigate resources and adjust to a new life. Anyone can sign up to be a Buddy, whether you're a native-born American or immigrant who has been here for a while. You’ll take part in a fulfilling cross-cultural experience.

Get started as a Buddy by clicking the Sign Up button below to create a profile on our web platform. You will give some information about yourself to share with potential immigrants. As a Buddy, you will list the areas of support you can provide. (Note: any type of help related to the areas listed, including the ability to research resources, counts!)

After registering, your profile will be submitted to the Immigrant Buddies team for review. We will have a video call with you to learn more about you, your background, why you would like to be a Buddy, and what kind of support you can provide. We will also explain how our mentorship platform works and some guidelines on how to be a Buddy.

You can request to connect with Immigrant Buddies, and- if your profile is visible- immigrants can request to connect with you. Once an Immigrant Buddy accepts your request, communicate how you can support them and ideas for activities. You are free to mentor how you choose. We will follow up regularly for support and feedback.
